Fun times in Virginia

I headed out to Virginia to watch the DeShetler boys while Paige and Zach took a 10 year anniversary trip. I was so glad that my niece (Joanna Porter) also had her spring break from college this same week and was super wonderful to join me to watch the 4 boys.  I think I could have survived on my own but man was it great to have an extra set of hands...especially hands that didn't mind doing all the cooking!  I can play with kids, change diapers, make sure people are at school on time and read stories at bedtime, but I don't cook!  I had a fantastic week with these kiddos and love them so much!  I was happy to help Paige and Zach get a little break away from the boys.  I remember being mom with young kids and needing those breaks:)

Snuggles with T-Chelle

The boys made these cute little "rattle snakes" at the Virginia Living Museum

Alistair loved the fish at the museum

Getting to touch a real snake!

This museum was not only amazing it had a wonderful walking trail with a cool dinosaur park...the boys had a blast

Remy had fun pulling Alistair around in this little wagon at the Dinosaur park

Hanging at the playground after preschool.  After so many days of rain in Portland it was wonderful to be in the sunshine:)

I helped Remy with a science experiment (mentos with diet coke) and Alistair made sure we didn't waste any of the coke 😝

We got to celebrate Joannas birthday while we were all together.  She made this yummy butterscotch cake...

...then I treated her to a yummy sushi dinner:)

The twins spent a good 30 minutes creating this "Eagles Nest" at the park

We had a great time exploring the battlefield at Yorktown

Playing at the beach in Yorktown

I always paint the twins toe nails when I visit, we can them "special toes"  I painted Alistair's nails this time...he hated it!

Feeding the ducks at Huntington Park on a beautiful day

Such a cutie!

Remy was super sad we went to Yorktown while he was at school so after he got home I took him by himself, it was a special Remy + T-Chelle date

Playing around at a fort in Yorktown

Revolutionary War memorial

Paige and Zach brought us these delicious macarons to say thank you for watching their kids:)

The boys all helped me deflate my air mattress on my last day.  I love these boys and can't wait to see them again!

Bye boys!  Love you tons!!!
