All About April

Townsend is probably a typical teenager.  Likes to play on the computer with his friends.  Doesn't like to hang out with his family much.  But this picture of him petting our cat is so sweet.  I know he has a soft heart even if his teenage exterior is prickly!

Julian got to be "Principal for a Day" at his school.  He got to do the morning announcements over the intercom, pull the fire alarm for the fire drill, he got to eat lunch with the principal.  He loved it!

Just a strange photo and story:  When we first moved to Hillsboro, 7 years ago, I was driving near my house and saw this sign and I thought it read "Cult Followers" and I remember thinking, well I guess we live in Oregon now where everyone has a place to be themselves...even cult members.  Now, every Spring when the farm puts this sign up to sell flowers I think of this story and it makes me smile:)

A friend of mine plays on the Portland all girls football team.  A couple of friends went to her first game and it poured down rain on us!  Luckily we had some umbrellas but we were all freezing out butts off by the time the game was over and we got back to our car:)

I went with a friend to walk around Washington Park a bit.  The magnolia trees were blooming and it was a nice day for a walk.

Julian and I decorated our Easter Tree...I love how it brings a splash of color to the grey skies of our Oregon Spring.

The Easter Bunny visited and dropped off some treats for the boys.  The bunny always leaves the treats outside their door for them to find on Easter morning:)

The big group of Easter egg hunters!

All of the older kids in the group got to find one "Golden Egg" which had money inside instead of candy.  We make them all open them at once to reveal the prize inside.  This was Julian's first year to find a "Golden Egg" and he was really happy with his $20 prize!

Julian got an award for being a "Star Student" at his school.  I was very proud of him!

A few friends and I met up in Aurora, Oregon for a Jane Austin festival.  The little town was pretty cute, we spent a lot of time wandering around the many antique shops.  The tea was nothing special but it was still a fun day with friends:)
