March Madness

The sun decided to come back to the Pacific Northwest and we enjoyed being outside during March!

Katrina and I and a few other ladies had our annual snow shoe trek.  We did a short loop near Government Camp.  It wasn't too steep and there was a ton of snow so it was super fun.

The whole group.  It was the perfect day.  Not too snowy but also not too warm.

We took advantage of a sunny Sunday afternoon and hiked a little trail on Sauvie Island

Julian was our little photographer for this hike.  He loved taking pictures with Daddy's big camera!

Julian prepping for his fun Science Fair experiments...

...He had so much fun with this!  He tested 8 different sodas to see which ones reacted the most with mentos candies:)

All I wanted to do for my birthday was go visit Paige and her cute babies.  I stayed in California for a week and played with babies but also helped her pack up her house a bit.  The Air Force is moving them to Las Vegas.

Enjoying some California sun!

Paige had these adorable little bunny outfits so we just had to pull them out and take a little photo shoot with these two cuties.  I love Cecil's little smile!

While I was in California Hyrum and Katrina took a quick trip up to Seattle to see Burt Bacharach in concert.  They both said it was a great show and couldn't believe how great he still performs at his age!

We didn't do much for Spring Break this year but I did get the boys and some friends out to the new go cart place in Hillsboro.  They all loved it!

Julian and his friend Jacob even got the chance to ride!

Met up with some friends out on the Oregon Coast.  I was hoping to hike out to the ocean overlook because it was whale watching season but these kids only wanted to go about a mile and they were done.  I didn't want to push them, some of them were wearing flip flops...not really hiking ready.

The boys passed the permit test on their first try (thank goodness!  3 hours at the DMV was nuts!)

I forced all my kids to come see the Broadway musical, Aladdin.  I think they ended up thinking it was pretty fun but of course they would never admit that!  I'm such a mean mom!

Hyrum took Townsend golfing for the first time.  It was a gorgeous day and they had a lot of fun.

I didn't waste the beautiful day sitting around though.  I took Emerson and Julian on the Banks to Vernonia bike trail.  Julian did so fantastic!  I think he set a personal record of going 4 miles in just 20 minutes.  I was so proud of him!

Hyrum's nephew Andrew and his wife Meghan stopped by Portland for a night to say hello.  We took them on a little hike up to Council Crest.  Another beautiful, sunny day!
