July Fun

I absolutely loved this musical.  I had never heard of it so I had no expectations going to see it but I really enjoyed the music and the story was great.  Such a fun way to end our season tickets for "Broadway in Portland"

Out for a swim off the Dan on a hot day

It's so nice when the boys join us for some fun on the boat.

The twins both got summer jobs at Regal movie theaters:)

Had another fantastic week at our Stake YW girls camp.  I finally got a camp name this year..."Bigwig"! This relates to my favorite book "Watership Down", one of the characters is Bigwig and he is a loyal friend and trusted leader...if a bit bossy and pig headed at times 😆  I think it fits me quite well.

Rachelle in Utah and Wyoming

I went to Utah in July to meet up with some Germany friends that were getting together.  I had a free day to hang out with Oma so I took her to SLC to see the Temple renovations and walk around Temple Square

Oma and I in front of the SLC Temple

They are remodeling quite a bit on Temple Square so they have the giant Christus statue in storage but they had this smaller version in the Conference Center we could see.

My friends from Germany are the BEST!

Lots of good times with these folks:)

Spent a day at the pool with my bestie Becky Platt.  They were hanging out in Utah for a few days while they were moving from Alaska to Hawaii (gotta love military life!)

Another chance to gather with some more friends from Germany.

Sisters in so many ways 💖

Grabbed a quick bite at Costa Vida with Andrea before catching a flight to Wyoming

Made it to Wyoming where I got to spend a whole week with this cutie face!  Paige and Zach (and their 4 boys) were stopping over in Wyoming for a few weeks to play with cousins  before their move to Virginia.  I came to hang out with everyone but also to help my mom scan and label a million photos from her albums.

Took my sister Riann out for her birthday.  My mom and dad came along.  Sushi in the middle of nowhere Wyoming was a bit sketchy but we all survived:)

DeNae's house is the best for cousin playtime!

Alistair wasn't so sure about Aunty Chelle...he'll get used to me

Having so much fun in a giant thunderstorm!

Look at those smiles!!

Cecil enjoyed watching the storm from a distance

Warm bath, story time and snuggles before bed.  I love these boys!

My banana bread helpers

Snack break at the pool with Israelsen and DeShetler cousins

My parents having an afternoon snooze while I scanned photos

My setup at mom and dads apartment.  I would scan the photo and then mom would give me her best guess as to who was in the photo and the year it was taken:)

There isn't anything better than spending time with my family and DeNae is so gracious to always host our get togethers.

Took my parents out for a goodbye lunch.  It was wonderful seeing them again.  It's hard to see your parents age and slow down but I know I am blessed they are still here and still capable of remembering our life together.  Love you mom and dad!!

Said goodbye to this little munchkin, I miss his cute little face!

Love my Paigey and Zach!  So sad they are moving to Virginia...soooooo much farther to go visit than Las Vegas!

May and June

I went to a march in downtown Portland to make my voice heard!  I will not stand by as women's rights are stripped away.  The decisions about my body should be made by me, or any other woman, not by judges or legislators...most of who are MEN!

The Skinny Dan is back in the water for the summer sailing season!

Hyrum's happy place is on his boat...he lets me join him every once in a while :)

Third annual Mothers Day picnic at the Marina on Sauvie Island.  Such a beautiful spot to relax.

Some of us went for a quick little walk after the picnic. The weather has been so cool and wonderful so far this year.

It's always nice to walk around Rood Bridge Park

Definitely NOT my favorite musical we have seen this year.  Super lame songs and the only funny parts were bits that were in the original movie...so not very entertaining.

Peter in the sun

June 9th 2022...Twins very last day as high school Seniors!!

June 16th 2022...last day of 7th grade for Julian

Katrina and I made pork ribs with coleslaw and fruit for these two great Dads on Fathers Day

Love, love, love this musical!

Took Julian and some friends to Camp 18 for lunch and a little hike.

Julian went to an overnight campout a few hours from home.  It was really hard for him to leave his family behind and stay overnight all by himself.  His week started out pretty sad but I hope he is proud of himself for sticking it out and finishing the week.  I was really proud of him and hope he realizes now he can do really hard things.

Hatchet throwing at camp

Hyrum went down to the camp all day on Wednesday and Julian was very happy to see his Dad...even if he did try to convince Hyrum to bring him home with him at the end of the day.  Silly boy.
