Hyrum planned a "worker appreciation" breakfast for his office staff. He bought and prepared everything to have an omelet bar. Everyone loved it!
Our very good friends (Aaron and Kari Christensen) hosted their daughter Maggie's wedding up in Washington. Hyrum and I went up for the weekend. It was wonderful to spend time with them and their extended family...such great people. I have known Maggie since she was 2 years old! It's crazy she is married now!
While we were in Washington we stopped to say hi to Jacob and his husband Aodhan who live in Tacoma. Jacob has done a phenomenal job on their yard, it's so amazing!
A little bird hit our back patio sliding glass doors. It was lying on its back but its eyes were open so we figured it wasn't dead. Hyrum went outside and carefully picked it up and placed it gently on a bird feeder along the fence so it could take a minute to feel better but be out of harms way of our dumb cat. After a few minutes it flew away...my husband can raise things from the dead!
A sailing adventure on the Columbia River
Hyrum and I went to Ridgefield, WA for a concert. Before the concert stared we took a little walk around the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. There is a replica Cathlapotle Plankhouse built by the Native Americans from the area. They still use this as a sacred place for ceremonies.
Walking around the wildlife refuge, we were basically alone and it was a gorgeous little walk through the woods and wetlands.
At the concert Billy Strings and his band opened the show. I had never heard of this guy before but he was amazing on guitar and had a great voice.
Then Bob Dylan did a set. It was great to see a legend in real life but I have never been a super fan of Dylan...he seems way too stuck up and arrogant in my opinion...but what do I know?
The real show stopper was Willie Nelson...what an amazing musician and so fun to watch up on stage as he joked around with his band and his son who also was on stage with him. I'm so glad we got to see him before he leaves this world. He still plays the guitar and sings (even though his voice is a bit scratchy and wobbly at times) A true American Music Legend!
I have been trying to clean out closets and cupboards and try to organize things that have been on my "to do" list forever. Once of my goals was to go through the boys school photos and arrange them from Kindergarten through 12th grade. It's unbelievable I actually I had all the photos!
Hyrum replace 3 of our upstairs windows that were old and not really leaking but didn't seal well any more. I'm glad he took his safety seriously and harnessed himself up while he was up on the roof!
All done...good as new! Not only did he replace the windows but he had to replace the siding that went around the windows...I painted the siding before he installed it so although I was mostly just watching to make sure he didn't fall off the roof, I actually helped a little too:)
