June: Cape Falcon hike, Dragon Boat races, Bike ride around Portland, last day of school, twins home for summer

It was a foggy, cool day on the coast but a hike out to Cape Falcon is still a pretty place to be

My friend, Stephanie Cochini, participated in the annual Dragon Boat races in Portland. We went out on Saturday morning to cheer on her team.

Hanging out on the waterfront waiting for the races to begin

I went for a 12 mile bike ride loop around Portland with some friends, it was a beautiful day to be out by the waterfront

The last day of Freshman year of high school for this boy! He ended his school year with a 4.0...all A's! He is following in his brothers footsteps with his good grades:)

The twins came home from Corvallis for the summer. Hyrum made yummy currywurst and fries for a late night feast when they came home

Hyrum hadn't been feeling well for a few weeks, he felt like his chest was tight and it was difficult to take a deep breath.  We went to the ER and everything checked out fine, maybe it was a waste of time but it sure made us both feel better that nothing serious was going on!

We took Julian's Japanese tutor, Shizuka, out for dinner on her last night in Portland before heading home for Japan for the summer. We look forward to Julian working with her again in the fall to keep learning Japanese. She is such a great teacher and it was fun to hang out for the evening and learn about her life and home in Japan.

Took an hour for me to pick all these strawberries! It's not the most fun because it kills your back to bend over for that long, but...

...the delicious homemade strawberry jam is worth it!!

Out for a family bike ride. We are so lucky we can hop on our bikes at home and just ride for 20 minutes to the country roads where we don't have to worry so much about the traffic.

Evening sail with the family on the Columbia River, then a yummy Thai dinner in St. Helens
