June: Saki and Twins graduation, Farewell Saki, Rush concert, Hiking and Biking

A lunch date with my volunteer friends from the food bank. We have such a great time together every Thursday afternoon helping out at the North Plains food bank.

Biking along the Rock Creek Trail...

...McBee's crepes for a treat after the bike ride:)

We went to the symphony to watch the movie Jaws while the orchestra played the score. I loved how this bass player really got into the theme for the night:) He played the entire movie score dressed in this blow up shark costume!

Saki at the Glencoe High School graduation.

Post graduation sushi feast with friends and family.

Saki having fun with her friends at the grad night party.

I flew down to Los Angeles with my friends to see Rush live in concert. This was their first concert in 11 years AND the first tour without their drummer Neil Peart. We had a few hours to kill before the concert so we headed to the beach and grabbed a bite to eat.

Waiting for the concert to start...the energy was crazy when the band came onstage.

What a cool experience to see these rock legends! It was a great concert and their new drummer (Anika Nilles) completely blew everyone away...she was amazing!

We invited a ton of friends over for Saki's farewell party. I think she had a great time but it was super sad for her to say goodbye to all her friends.

I took Stevie on a walk but couldn't find her hat. It was a bit chilly of a morning so I grabbed a bandana and threw it on her head. She actually left it on all morning and she was so stinking CUTE!

Last day of school for Julian's Junior year. This baby of mine is getting so big!

Lunch to celebrate Julian's last day of school for the year.

These boys graduated from college! Four years at Oregon State University graduating with straight A's all 4 years. We are so incredibly proud of them both!

They had their "college" graduation on Friday and the next day would be the giant University graduation. Instead of driving home we set up a tent and brought a bunch of air mattresses and all slept in their tiny little house in Corvallis.

Lounging in the tent

Walking into the Stadium with some of their friends

This was a massive graduation. They didn't get their names called or walk across a stage (they had done that the day before in their small college graduation) but it was great to be here to celebrate the conclusion of 4 years of very hard work.

Oma as well as Andrea and Craig Merrill came up from Utah to help us celebrate these two boys:)

We had a great family get together the Sunday before Saki left for home so we could all say goodbye

One more round of badminton

We had to be at the airport at 4:30 AM. It was a crazy early morning!

Julian didn't want to wake up early to send Saki off, and Emerson clearly didn't want to change out of his pajamas 😜 It was sad to say goodbye but we know Saki has many great things to look forward to in Japan and it's so great that we can keep in touch so easily with modern technology 💖

We hiked out to the Sauvie Island light house while Oma and the Merrill's were here

It was a beautiful day for a walk

My friend, Christina, and I were matching at pickleball!

Fun bike ride into Vernonia with Townsend

Sherry, Robin and I spent a lovely morning walking around downtown Hillsboro and stopping at all the murals we found. I love that our little town invests in local artists.

I love how each mural is so unique

We threw a graduation party for our twins. They invited a bunch of friends over and we had an ice cream party!

We borrowed my friends soft serve ice cream machine and it was a real hit!

My three boys out for a walk in Jackson Bottom wetlands

I made a carrot cake (from scratch!) for these great Dad's on Father's Day!

Another fun bike ride with friends (and another yummy treat!)

I hiked with some friends up to Pittock Mansion...best view of the city from this property on the hill

On a clear day you can see Mt. Hood but it was actually really nice to hike on a cool, cloudy day:)

And that was my June! So many things to celebrate and so much fun with friends and family. I am so lucky to live in this part of the world and have a healthy, strong body that lets me explore and enjoy nature.
