One Saturday morning we got it in our heads that we should head out for a family bike ride. Lucky for us Oregon has many beautiful, kid friendly trails to ride bikes on. We checked our map and headed for Champoeg State Park. It wasn't a particularly warm or sunny day but some days you just need to kick kids off screens and head outside:)
This cute little stinker, who is almost 7 years old, still won't ride a bike so poor Daddy had to haul his big boy in the bike trailer!
It was a very nice bike trail through the forest and there were only 2 or 3 other people on the trail this day.
Taking a bit of a break at the halfway point. In the summertime this little "store" sells ice-cream cones. We will have to come back when it's open.
Part of the bike ride is on a dirt road...we all got a bit splattered with mud.
Our boys always complain on a Saturday morning if we say we are heading out for a hike or an adventure of some sort. I'm sure they would all prefer to spend 6 hours on their iPads BUT I'm hoping that once we get them out and actually doing something fun, like a bike ride, that these will be the memories they hold onto. I love spending the day outside with my family.
