The DeShetler Family Visits Portland

Paige and Zach and their cute boys came to stay with us in Portland for a week.  It was so much fun having them here.  We explored lots of Portland and surrounding areas.  I had a blast showing off my cute nephews to all my friends.  I really wish the DeShetlers didn't live so far away but a 2 hour flight from Vegas is at least doable.  I'm not sure when I will get a chance to see these guys next so I spent the whole week snuggling as much baby cuteness as I could!

Remy had so much fun playing with our marble drop toy!

Two boys playing with Daddy on the trampoline

Playing at the Patterson school playground

Nothing like fresh blackberries at the Hillsboro farmers market!

A beautiful day for the 4 T's hike.  The whole group at Council Crest

Peek-a-boo Cecil:)

Enjoying the hike

Taking a well deserved break at the end of the hike.  I'm so glad there is a Plaid Pantry at the end of the trail!

Waiting to get on the aerial tram

The tram is so cool!

We stopped at Camp 18 for breakfast on our way out to Astoria...Cecil sin't so sure about the "Bigfoot" statue:)

Swinging at the beach...Seaside, OR

Graham helping Uncle Hyrum cook dinner

Enjoying a nice cool morning in Portland Oregon with some fig newtons...what's not to like?

I babysat the twins one morning so Paige and Zach could take Remy to the zoo.  They said it was a fun time and so nice not to have to push the babies around in a stroller all day:)

Munching on fresh carrots from Uncle Hyrum's garden:)

We put the kids down for bed early and spent a kid free evening in Portland...had to go to Salt and Straw ice cream!

At the 4th of July parade in Hillsboro!

Hanging out at the beach on Sauvie Island

Cecil didn't seem to mind that the water was super cold...or the sand was super gritty

Remy having a blast with his Mom and Dad:)

Graham and Aunty Chelle playing with rocks at the beach

Hyrum dug a little "kiddy pool" for the boys to splash in:)

Graham was ready to go home!!

Making s'mores before going to see the fireworks

Cousins waiting for the fireworks to start at North Plains

And just like that a week had gone by and I was taking this cute family to the airport to fly back to Vegas.  I only cried a little on my way home from the airport with an empty car...I will miss these guys!

Life in June

Julian with his piano teacher at his end of year recital.  I love to hear my boys play the piano.  My twins quit last year and Julian fights me a lot when I ask him to practice but I still think it's good for them to learn.

Lunch with some friends...we are all dreading the end of the school year so we have to get our lunch dates in before all the crazies are home!

Every year Julian helps me before and after school to sell yearbooks during the last week.  He counts the money and gives people change, he is a great helper!

Emerson and Townsend, last day of 9th grade!

Julian with his teacher Mrs. Godsey on the last day of 4th grade.  It was pretty cute because he cried a little on the last day.  He has such a sweet heart and Mrs. Godsey was a perfect teacher for him.

Hyrum took Julian on an overnight back packing trip to Skookum Lake.  Hyrum said Julian was a real trooper hiking into the camp site even thought it was a pretty steep hike.

This is the "thumbs down" photo after the steepest part of the hike...what a view though!

He was super happy to get to the camp site:)

They brought a fishing pole but didn't catch anything...he still had fun playing in the lake.

Hot cocoa and a campfire...good way to start the day!

Skookum Lake

Julian said he spent a lot of time in the tent because there were so many mosquitoes...he came home just covered with bites...poor kid!

I love how happy they both look!

One very tired boy made it back to the car:)

Hyrum and I went to the Portland Chinese Gardens just for fun one day.  It was a very nice garden, it reminded me of the places I visiting while in China.

It was a peaceful place to visit.

Julian and I heading to Vegas for a visit with Paige and her boys.  We were the last to board the airplane but we got MOD pizza so it was all good:)

Back to my happy place:)

My "baby" Julian looks like a giant compared to my nephews...who told Julian he could grow so big?

Julian and Remy worked together on this fort...the babies knocked it down in 3 seconds!

Happy 1st birthday Cecil and Graham!!

Zach is stationed at Nellis Air Force Base...home of the famous "Thunderbirds!"

Julian LOVES m&m's so of course we had to make a stop at the m&m store on the Vegas strip.   I guess I should have limited his m&m buying... we ended up spending almost $50 on that bag of m&m's!!

We all went to see "The Tournament of Kings" at the Excalibur hotel in Vegas.  It was a super fun show, I think Julian really enjoyed it.

At the show

Julian helping Cecil at the water splash pad.  It was so cute to see him interacting with his little nephews.

Zach is such a Super Dad!!!

Hyrum with his brother Jason on a bike ride in Portland

Julian went to a week long day camp called "Everybody Loves PE"  He says he hated it but he looks like he is having fun in these photos so I don't think I believe him:)
